BMG Resources (ASX: BMG) has reported ‘significant and excellent’ gold intersections following a recent diamond drilling campaign at the Capital prospect within its flagship Abercromby Gold Project in Western Australia.
The results, generated from 2,613m of drilling, have returned hits of up to 11.71g/t Au, and have further added to the known mineralisation at Capital.
Key intercepts include:
- Hole 20ABRC0002: 31m @ 6.18g/t Au from 162m, incl. 77m @ 2.99g/t Au from 116m
- Hole 21ABDD004: 10m @ 11.71g/t Au from 295m
- Hole 20ABRC0002: 13.8m @ 6.56g/t Au from 446m
- Hole 21ABRC003: 24m @ 1.97g/t Au from 101m
- Hole 21ABDD001: 39m @ 1.35g/t Au from 205m
Speaking on the results, BMG Managing Director Bruce McCracken said: “It’s now well and truly game on at the Abercromby. In one single program, we have more than doubled the likely size of the deposit, intersected extremely high-grade gold in fresh rock, and proven the system is fertile at depth via the deepest drilling undertaken at the Project to date.
“In one single program, we have more than doubled the likely size of the deposit”
Our geological and grade models have again successfully targeted mineralisation at or very close to predicted locations, with extrapolation holding true at distances in excess of 250m. The nature and style of mineralisation is becoming well recognised, and the company is in great position to leverage further success with the drill bit from here.”
The company reports that these results have validated the deeper continuation of the ‘high-grade’ mineralised system, doubling the depth extent of the system as well as returning ‘significant’ strike extensions that remain open towards the east and west of the prospect.
The 100%-owned Abercromby Gold Project is located on the Wiluna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia and comprises two granted mining leases. The project is surrounded by major gold deposits including Northern Star’s 10Moz Jundee and the 12Moz Wiluna Gold Mine, with the surrounding district being considered one of the most gold-prospective regions in WA.
With the recent diamond drilling campaign now complete, BMG has announced that it will move forward with delineating the expanding footprint of the ‘high-grade’ Capital mineralisation.
The company also reports that it will await finalised aircore drilling results before confirming the next substantive work program.
