Battery Age Minerals (ASX:BM8) has identified several kilometre-scale gold and silver anomalies at its El Aguila Project in the Santa Cruz Province of Argentina, following a recent soil sampling program.
Samples returned peak assays of 134 parts per billion (ppb) gold and 36.5 parts per million (ppm) silver with pathfinder support as to 428ppm, from a program of 838 samples.
The identified prospects will be followed up with an environmental impact assessment with maiden drilling expected later this year noting baseline studies have already completed.
UK firm, Campbell & Walker Geophysics, conducted the targeting review, compiling historical magnetic and induced polarisation geophysical surveys.
Preliminary reporting suggests targets coincide with historical rock chip assays that have previously returned up to 174.6 grams per tonne gold and 4.739g/t silver.
Historical drill intercepts also include 0.55m @ 40.55g/t gold, and 7m @ 2.48g/t gold including 1.7m @ 9.02g/t gold.

“The combination of modern geophysics, detailed mapping, and high-density soil sampling has validated and expanded our target base, particularly around El Aguila Main, South, and the broader structural corridors,” Broomham says
“Importantly, the petrographic analysis has confirmed free-milling gold and silver minerals, which is a strong positive from a processing and development standpoint.
“The new data sets not only de-risk the next exploration phase but have added to the pipeline of targets.”
The mining sector has undergone a lot of re-exploration across previously-focused assets, pushing companies towards a modern-day exploration resurgence.
As reported by Mining.com.au, explorers recently targeting historically-producing deposits include Dark Star Minerals (CSE:BATT), Rua Gold (TSX-V:RUA), and Provenance Gold (CSE:PAU).
Battery Age Minerals is looking to uncover the next generation of “valuable” resources through strategic development plans across its portfolio of assets.
