Athena Gold triples Forester’s size since initial acquisition

Athena Gold (CSE:ATHA) has further consolidated its land position at the Forester Project in Ontario, Canada, via recent map staking.

An additional 6,088 hectares of contiguous mining claims has been staked, expanding Forester by 69% to a total of 14,930 hectares.

The newly staked ground covers dominantly volcanic rocks within the North Caribou Lake Greenstone Belt and strengthens the company’s strategic position along strike of Equinox Gold’s (NYSE:EQX) Musselwhite mine.

This news comes after Athena Gold staked an additional 3,939 hectares in late July.

By consolidating a larger contiguous package less than 30km southeast of Musselwhite, Athena says it is better positioned to systematically evaluate banded iron formation-hosted targets and bulk tonnage orogenic gold potential across an expanded, underexplored portion of this belt.

CEO Koby Kushner says the company has tripled the size of Forester since the initial acquisition last February, giving it a district-scale position in the Musselwhite Gold Camp.

“Meanwhile, we continue to await final results from our Laird Lake Project in Red Lake, which we expect to have very soon,” Kushner says.

A maiden drill program was completed at Laird Lake in early July, comprising nine diamond drill holes for 5,134m of drilling.

The Laird Lake Project, located 20km southwest of Red Lake, Ontario, covers 4,158 hectares and is accessible via trail roads connecting with ON-618 Highway.

Athena Gold is a mineral explorer focused on acquiring mineral property assets prospective for precious and base metals.
