Athena Gold winds up modernising Laird Lake’s historical data

Athena Gold (CSE:ATHA) has completed a maiden drill program at the Laird Lake Project in Ontario, Canada.

The program comprised nine diamond drill holes for 5,134m. The company expects to receive all pending assays by early August 2026. Crews have now begun demobilisation, with site clean-up activities underway.

CEO Koby Kushner says completing the maiden drilling program is the culmination of years of work modernising historical geophysical data through 3D inversions and completing a more than 2,000 sample geochemical program.

“We look forward to receiving all pending assay results and providing further updates to shareholders,” Kushner says.

As previously reported, a strategic follow-up hole was completed earlier this year, which was designed to test the G4 anomaly from a different angle, as well as test the Pit zone at depth.

The Laird Lake Project, located 20km southwest of Red Lake, Ontario, covers 4,158 hectares and is accessible by trail roads that connect with ON-618 Highway. The project is considered to be under-explored for gold, relative to much of the surrounding Red Lake Greenstone Belt, despite the fact it envelopes more than 10km of strike length along the known gold-bearing contact between Balmer and Confederation Assemblage rocks.

Athena Gold is focused on exploring and acquiring mineral properties across North America.
