Landscape shot of Askari Metals K9 pegmatite target at its Uis Project in Namibia

Askari unleashes K9’s tin-lithium-tantalum trifecta

Askari Metals (ASX:AS2) has reported ‘outstanding’ phase one trenching results from 38 trenches for 781.7m at the K9 pegmatite target at its Uis Project in Namibia.

Standout intercepts include 4,050 parts per million (ppm) tin, 0.29% lithium oxide, and 215ppm tantalum from 199 channel samples across the 950m strike length.

Askari’s 100%-owned Uis Project sits immediately southwest of the operating Uis Tin Mine, placing the company within one of the world’s premier hard-rock tin-lithium-tantalum districts.

The neighbouring Uis Mine hosts a substantial JORC mineral resource estimate of 77.51 million tonnes @ 0.79% lithium oxide, 0.15% tin, and 82ppm tantalum.

The K9 target sits directly along strike from the B1/C1 pegmatite targets on the adjacent ML129, previously owned by Andrada Mining.

Drilling by Andrada in 2023 returned standout pegmatite intersections, including 14.52m from 15.48m to 30m grading 1.38% lithium oxide, 285ppm tantalum, and 0.131% tin.

“These results materially de-risk drilling and strengthen our conviction that K9 sits within a fertile, high-quality mineralised corridor with the scale and commodity mix to capture strong investor attention,” Executive Director Gino D’Anna says.

Tin results demonstrate multiple zones of continuous mineralisation along the 950m pegmatite trend. Highlights include 2.80m @ 1,810ppm tin from 9m, including 0.8m @ 4,050ppm tin from 11m, and 3m @ 1,406ppm tin from 7.50m.

Lithium, tantalum, and exploration program

Several trenches returned lithium assays in the 0.2% to 0.3% lithium oxide range, with best results including 1.10m @ 0.29% lithium oxide from 2.80m and 0.50m @ 0.26% lithium oxide from 4.50m.

Tantalum mineralisation returned strong and broadly continuous results, with many intercepts exceeding 80ppm tantalum along the full 950m strike length.

Reverse circulation (RC) drilling is now being advanced for the K9 pegmatite target to test the continuity, geometry, and depth potential of the system.

The company is planning a next phase of exploration, including infill soil sampling on EPL 7626, first phase trenching on EPL 7626 and EPL 8535, and second phase trenching on EPL 7345.

RC drilling at the DP, OP, PS, and K9 pegmatite targets is slated for H2 2026.

Askari Metals is an African‑focused battery metals explorer advancing its 100%‑owned Uis polymetallic project in Namibia, alongside gold‑copper assets in Ethiopia.
