As American Tungsten‘s (TSX-V:TUNG) IMA Mine Project advances towards development, the company is heading into phase two of exploration by focusing on growing and defining the mineralised system at the project.
CEO Ali Haji reveals American Tungsten has also “undertaken the largest drill program in the company’s history, alongside completing significant rehabilitation work at the IMA Mine.”
“[This positions] us for sustained progress.”
The company has received additional assay results for drillholes completed on the D-level of the IMA Mine Project, located in Idaho. Drilling delineated multiple stacked tungsten-bearing polymetallic veins outside of the previously mined areas.
These results include 5.2 feet @ 1.41% tungsten oxide and 3.97 ounces per tonne silver; 4.4 feet @ 1.78% tungsten oxide and 0.94oz/t silver; and 3 feet @ 0.41% tungsten oxide and 0.51oz/t silver.
Step-out drilling in veins five and seven continue to delineate tungsten mineralisation.
Some of the assays from the said veins include 24 feet @ 0.75% tungsten oxide and 3.06oz/t silver; and 15.8 feet @ 0.33% tungsten oxide and 0.66oz/t silver.
Reinforcing scale and continuity
Vice President of Exploration Austin Zinsser says the strength and consistency shown in the latest results from the D-level reinforce the company’s confidence in the scale and continuity of the mineralised system.
“Importantly, drilling has successfully delineated multiple stacked tungsten-bearing polymetallic veins in the footwall beyond historically mined areas, while step-out drilling in [veins five and seven] continue to confirm significant mineralisation,” Zinsser says.
“This expanding footprint underscores the untapped upside at IMA.”
Exploration drilling at IMA remains ongoing, with two surface drill rigs and two underground drill rigs operating. To date, over 10,000 feet of drilling across 24 holes have been completed.
Additional assays completed on the Zero-level and D-level drillholes will be released once received and compiled.
The IMA Mine is a past producing tungsten mine situated on 22 patented claims located in East Central Idaho.
