American Tungsten (CSE:TUNG) is continuing to advance its understanding of the IMA Mine Project’s potential and expansion, after receiving tungsten-silver assay results from underground channel sampling.
Underground samples from the no.5 vein average 1.04% tungsten oxide and 2.70 ounces per tonne silver, over an average width of 5 feet. Surficial rock chip sampling identified tungsten-silver mineralisation in quartz veins exposed at surface over significant widths.
American Tungsten says additional surface sampling results confirm extension and continuation of tungsten mineralised quartz veins beyond primary mine area and mineralisation in historical tailings.
CEO Ali Haji says the company is nearing completion of a current drilling program, with initial assay results emerging from broader exploration work reinforcing strength of the IMA Mine Project.
“Recent high-grade tungsten-silver assay results from underground channel sampling, combined with encouraging surface and tailings samples, highlight the scale and continuity of mineralisation across the property,” Haji says.
“As we finalise interpretation of our drilling data, these complementary sampling results provide strong geological support for the system’s continuity and scale.”
As previously reported, American Tungsten is focused on advancing targets within IMA which supports its mission to become the first tungsten producer in the US.
Drilling has intersected quartz veins with hubnerite mineralisation, with vein intersections occurring over an area 400 feet along strike and 250 feet up-dip from the D-Level.
IMA is a past producing underground tungsten mine situated on 22 patented claims located in East Central Idaho, US.
