Zeotech and Holcim extend collaboration to 2027

Zeotech (ASX:ZEO) has confirmed the extension of its collaboration with Holcim (Australia) under the terms of the existing non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that was previously announced on 28 October 2024.

The extension supports the continued collaboration between the two companies to advance the commercialisation of AusPozz™ high-reactivity metakaolin and facilitate further concrete trials.

The MOU provides an important framework for Zeotech and Holcim to further validate AusPozz™ as a high-performance low-carbon solution for the built environment.

The MOU has been extended to 1 March 2027 with the option to terminate by either party given 30 days’ written notice.

Chief Executive Officer James Marsh says that Zeo tech is “pleased to continue working closely with one of Australia’s leading sustainable building materials suppliers to further validate the role AusPozzTM can play in delivering low-carbon solutions for the built environment.”

Head of Technical and Commercial Contracts at Holcim Australia Frank Knippers also commented that the company “looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Zeotech to advance the technical evaluation of AusPozzTM and support the development of innovative building materials.”

Additionally, Zeotech has recently enhanced its operational capabilities with the employment of Anthony Spittle as Project Director – Operations.

Anthony brings over 40 years of experience in the concrete, quarry, and logistics sectors, having held both operational and strategic leadership positions throughout his career.

He has served in senior roles at prominent construction materials companies, including Boral and Holcim, where he most recently worked as the Regional Operations Manager for Holcim’s Queensland Concrete division.

His extensive experience with major infrastructure projects, mobile plant operations, and greenfield quarry developments will greatly contribute to the advancement of Zeotech’s AusPozz™ and DSO Kaolin initiatives.

Zeotech remains focused on fast-tracking approvals to commence direct shipping ore (DSO) kaolin mining at its Toondoon Kaolin Project to support its $200 million binding offtake agreement with MSI China.

At the same time, the company continues to accelerate the commercialisation of AusPozz™, a high-performance metakaolin used in low-carbon concrete. As a manufactured pozzolan, AusPozz™ is approved for use under Australian concrete standards as a Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM).
