Winsome Resources (ASX:WR1) reports it remains on track to deliver a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its Adina Project in Quebec, Canada, later in 2023.
The announcement follows the discovery of a new lithium-bearing pegmatite swarm in the project area.
The company says a fourth rig is currently being mobilised onsite to enable additional drilling to provide increased data for geological and resource modelling.
Winsome also states the recent discovery of a new zone of lithium mineralisation has ‘significantly’ changed the potential endowment at Adina and is expected to enhance the potential to develop a viable lithium operation.
Additionally, the company reports ‘strong high-grade’ lithium intersections continue from the Adina Main Zone of lithium mineralisation, with new results including drillhole AD-23-072 with 18.7m @ 2.25% Li2O from 43.3m; AD-23-028 with 10m @ 2.09% Li2O from 35.2m; and AD-23-040 with 42.8m @ 1.71% Li2O from 49.9m.

This new zone is anticipated to contribute to our main resource estimate, due later in 2023, as well as enhancing the viability of the project, and further drilling is now underway to define its up-dip extent, closer to surface.

Winsome reports the Main Zone has now been intersected in drilling over a strike length of 830m and down to a depth of 300m from surface. Additionally, the zone remains open to the east, west, and at depth, with 3 rigs actively drilling on site.
A total of 54 holes for 14,847m were drilled at the end of April 2023. The company reports assays have been received for 40 of the drillholes.
