WIN Metals (ASX:WIN) is conducting work to define a maiden resource estimate at the Repeater prospect within the Radio Gold Project in Western Australia, after completing a reverse circulation drilling program.
The company intends to refine the existing Radio and Radio South models to support mine design and scheduling studies.
WIN, which has a market capitalisation of $28.9 million, says these technical studies will feed into assessments of near-term restart options for underground mining and potential low-cost open pit opportunities over the largely unmined near-surface mineralisation.
As part of the latest reverse circulation drill program, new intercepts confirm high-grade mineralisation more than 100m below surface at Repeater and immediately south of existing underground mine workings at Radio.
The results demonstrate down-dip continuity of the Repeater system and highlight clear potential to grow the resource footprint. Some of the results include 1m @ 10.11 grams per tonne gold from 103m; 1m @ 2.32g/t gold from 125m; and 2m @ 5.21g/t gold from 102m.
CEO Steve Norregaard says the latest results give the company “growing confidence” in a continuous shoot that may underpin a maiden resource estimate and meaningful additions to the broader Radio inventory.
“Equally important is the 2m @ 5.2g/t gold returned 20m in front of the existing 10 Level development face at Radio Main, which shows that high-grade mineralisation continues directly along strike of the current workings supporting our belief in the potential to extend the mine footprint to the south as we move into the next phase of planning,” Norregaard says.
Final assays from grade control and extensional drilling at Radio and Radio South are expected in the coming weeks and will be integrated into updated 3D geological models.
WIN Metals is a mineral explorer focused on 350km2 of granted tenure in the Southern Goldfields and Kimberley regions of Western Australia.
