Wildcat Resources (ASX:WC8) has begun reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Tabba Tabba Lithium-Tantalum Project near Port Hedland in Western Australia.
The $89.85 million market capitalisation company says the initial program will be targeting outcropping pegmatites in the northern and central mining leases.
Wildcat plans to ramp up drilling operations while the program is ongoing.
Commenting on drilling work, Wildcat Resources Managing Director Samuel Ekins says: “It is a great feeling to see Wildcat drilling at Tabba Tabba, a project that last saw drilling activity in 2014 when tantalum was prized far more than lithium.
Our exploration team has done a great job to get us in this position so soon after announcing the deal to acquire this amazing asset.
“we have a quality field camp on site that will enable us to scale up our exploration activities as our knowledge and capacity increases”
With the support of our drilling contractor Topdrill, we have a quality field camp on site that will enable us to scale up our exploration activities as our knowledge and capacity increases.”
The drilling work will comprise 30 angled RC holes ranging from 100m to 275m deep, with an average depth of 150m.
Wildcat says an additional RC drill rig, and then a diamond drill rig, will be mobilised to Tabba Tabba as initial results are received and as its knowledge of the geometry and mineralogy of the system advances.

Tabba Tabba is located on granted mining tenements about 80km by road from Port Hedland, Western Australia.
Wildcat Resources is focused on unlocking value by way of discovery, targeting ‘world-class’ provinces across Australia. As of 31 March 2023, the company had $4.9 million cash at hand, according to its latest quarterly report published on 28 April 2023.
