Westhaven Gold (TSX-V:WHN) has announced it has intersected gold and silver mineralisation below the deepest proposed stopes at its Shovelnose Gold Property in British Columbia, Canada.
The result points to scope for the company to expand the South Zone deposit ahead of an updated mineral resource estimate and Prefeasibility Study.
Drill hole SNR26-117 returned 10.04m @ 12.18 grams per tonne gold (Au) and 103g/t silver (Ag) beneath the mine development outlined in Westhaven’s 2025 preliminary economic assessment.
Meanwhile, SNR26-110 intersected 37.34m @ 6.24g/t Au and 55g/t Ag along the southeastern margin of the deposit.
The reported intervals are downhole lengths, with Westhaven estimating true widths at between 70% and 80% of the intersections.
CEO Ken Armstrong says further drilling around both holes could add contained ounces to the South Zone deposit.
“Follow up drilling is required in the vicinity of both of these holes where there is clearly potential to increase contained ounces in the South Zone deposit,” Armstrong says.
Westhaven has completed 85 holes totalling 26,581m, representing more than 76% of its 35,000m South Zone resource infill program. The company says four rigs are operating across the deposit, with results continuing to demonstrate mineralisation continuity across vein zones one, two, and three.
The company notes drilling is being conducted on nominal 25m centres, with the results set to inform the resource update supporting a Prefeasibility Study scheduled for the second half of 2027. The broader 2026 field program, which includes exploration drilling and surface work, is expected to continue until mid-December.
Dundee Corporation (TSX:DC.A) is funding the work under an agreement allowing it to earn up to 60% of Westhaven’s four Spences Bridge Gold Belt properties through C$85 million ($86.64 million) in staged expenditure.
Westhaven controls about 60,263 hectares across the four properties, where it is targeting low-sulphidation epithermal gold and silver systems.
