Western Yilgarn expands Ida Holmes Junction tenure

Western Yilgarn (ASX:WYX) has expanded its ground position at the Ida Holmes Junction Project in Western Australia, after securing two new exploration licences to target gallium mineralisation.

The new tenements — E57/1486 and E57/1487 — add about 230km2 to Western Yilgarn’s footprint, extending coverage over areas that have returned elevated gallium assays from previous rock-chip sampling.

Western Yilgarn says this additional ground strengthens its exposure to gallium and bauxite mineralisation across a geologically underexplored corridor of the Yilgarn Craton.

Non-executive director Pedro Kastellorizos says the expanded footprint sets up the next stage of exploration, with a systematic exploration program starting across the project.

“Field activities are scheduled to begin with helicopter-borne reconnaissance designed to follow-up on the high-grade gallium mineralisation previously identified at Ida Holmes Junction,” Kastellorizos says.

In parallel, Western Yilgarn’s subsidiary PBX Aust has executed a land access agreement with the private landowner of Lot 11 Waldeck East Road at Wannamal. The area forms part of the central Lode 200 bauxite resource, which hosts 62.2 million tonnes @ 36.4% aluminium oxide.

The company says the newly approved access at Lode 200 will allow drilling to proceed once field logistics are complete, aiming to build upon the existing bauxite resource and define new zones of gallium enrichment.

By consolidating tenure and securing access across its West Julimar region holdings, Western Yilgarn says it is positioned for an active 2026 exploration season focused on resource growth and the evaluation of high-value critical minerals.

Western Yilgarn is a mineral explorer focused on its diversified portfolio and early stage opportunities.
