Warriedar Resources stretches ‘high-grade’ gold zone through drilling at Fields Find Project

Gold and copper explorer Warriedar Resources (ASX:WA8) has extended the known ‘high-grade’ gold zone through the first 4 holes drilled at the Rothschild prospect, located within the Fields Find Project in Western Australia.

The company reports the Rothschild prospect was selected as the first area to drill within the Fields Find Project as the existing deposit lies on a mining lease, and the historic drilling data demonstrated gold mineralisation extending along strike for up to 1km. The ‘high-grade’ core of the mineralisation also appeared to remain open both at depth and along strike.

Key intercepts recorded include hole BRRC081 with 11m @ 3.39g/t Au; BRRC080 with 2m @ 2.43g/t Au from 153m; and BRRC078 with 9m @ 1.85g/t Au from 150m.

Warriedar says these ‘excellent’ results demonstrate the targeted depth extension to this deposit with multiple parallel lodes and evidence that the ‘high-grade’ core is potentially sustained with depth.

This drilling, which is being undertaken by Challenge Drilling, represents the first major exploration program to explore for primary gold mineralisation at Rothschild in over 7 years.

The company reports the phase one drilling program at Rothschild comprised 5,000m of drilling designed to assess scale potential. Step-out drilling was designed to test beneath and along strike from the existing deposit. This program also targeted parallel lodes to the northwest and south of the existing lode.

Warriedar says the program was extended to a targeted 7,750m as a result of the identification of strong quartz-sulphide mineralisation in geological logging of deeper retrieved drill chips. The chips from the mineralised zone in hole BRRC081 look very similar to many other samples in holes awaiting assays. Warriedar notes it currently has another 4,332 samples in the lab from drilling across the projects.

Drilling is ongoing at Rothschild, with further assay results expected within the coming weeks. The company says ground electromagnetic (EM) surveying and drilling continued at the Golden Range, and Fields Find projects.

To date, Warriedar says a total of 24,048m has been drilled across both projects, and notes the TopDrill rig at Golden Range is currently drilling at Riley North after recently completing stage one holes at Bugeye North.

Warriedar Resources is a gold and copper exploration business with an existing resource base of almost 2 million ounces of gold across its local and international portfolio. The company’s projects include the Golden Range and Fields Find projects in Western Australia, and the Big Springs Gold Project in Nevada, US.
