VHM (ASX:VHM) has secured approval for a work plan, allowing the company to proceed with a final investment decision in H1 2026 for the Goschen Rare Earths and Mineral Sands Project in Victoria.
The approval also enables the company to conduct construction and production, reinforcing Goschen’s alignment with environmental and community expectations. It is the final mining approval required before construction and mining activities can begin.
VHM, which has a market capitalisation of $96.72 million, says there is a clear pathway to production through a staged development strategy.
The Goschen Project contains a 199 million tonnes proved and probable ore reserve and a scalable 629 million tonnes resource with ongoing growth potential. The project is located in Victoria’s Loddon Mallee region.
Rare earth elements are the building blocks of a decarbonised world. From electric vehicles and wind turbines to smartphones and medical imaging, materials like neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium are essential to innovation and clean energy.
