Verity renews Botswana copper-silver tenure

Verity Resources (ASX:VRL) has secured two-year renewals for four prospecting licences covering its coppersilver and nickel-copper-platinum group element (PGE) projects in eastern Botswana.

The licences cover 2,868km² of the Limpopo Mobile Belt and include the Airstrip and Dibete copper-silver discoveries and the Maibele North deposit.

Maibele North hosts an inferred mineral resource estimate of 2.4 million tonnes (Mt) @ 0.72% nickel (Ni), 0.21% copper (Cu), and 0.63g/t combined four PGE plus gold (Au).

Director Patrick Volpe says the renewals provide Verity with further time to advance its large-scale copper-silver targets.

“This is the ground that carries our defined copper, silver, nickel, PGE, and gold endowment in Botswana, and holding it on a firm footing gives us the runway to get back to uncovering the potential of the large-scale copper-silver targets,” Volpe says.

Historical drilling at Airstrip returned 11m @ 7.63% Cu and 462g/t Ag from 52m, including 3m @ 22.74% Cu and 1,379g/t Ag.

At Dibete, previous results include 25m @ 2.17% Cu and 77g/t Ag from 27m, and 6.15m @ 7.20% Cu and 182g/t Ag from 24.85m. The system remains largely untested below about 120m.

The licences lie within the same structural corridor as the Selebi and Selebi North nickel-copper-cobalt deposits held by NexMetals Mining (NASDAQ:NEXM), and within trucking distance of the Selebi Phikwe processing complex.

Regional versatile time domain electromagnetic data have identified 23 untested anomalies across Verity’s portfolio. The company also notes soil sampling continues across the separate 903km² PL123/2024 licence, with samples to be sent to ALS (ASX:ALQ) South Africa for analysis.

Verity Resources is an Australian explorer with gold and critical minerals assets in Western Australia, Botswana, and Brazil. Its portfolio includes the wholly owned Monument Gold Project near Laverton, which hosts 2.5Mt @ 1.72g/t Au for 137,700 ounces.
