True North gearing up for Camp Gossans work program

True North Copper (ASX:TNC) is gearing up for another round of additional rock chip sampling along the Camp Gossans trend, as part of its wholly owned Mt Oxide Project in Queensland.

The $45.28 million market capitalisation company says sampling will be undertaken in line with designing and completion of geophysical programs across newly uncovered copper, cobalt, and arsenic target areas at Camp Gossans.

Once complete, further rock chip sampling of other ‘high priority’ exploration targets will be undertaken ahead of a drilling program later in 2024.

The company also today (18 March 2024) reports it has mapped ‘strongly anomalous’ copper-cobalt zones from a systematic mapping and rock chip campaign at Camp Gossans.

These zones have been flagged from multiple gossanous breccia structures that are up to 16m wide with a combined strike length of over 500m.

The new zones include the Alpha, Gamma, and Beta gossans, and Zone A and Zone B.

According to True North Copper these zones demonstrate similar breccia textured and mineralisation styles to outcrops at the Vero resource, as well as the Esperanza and Esperanza South resources (part of 29 Metals’ (ASX:29M) Capricorn Copper Project).

As such, results demonstrate potential for a ‘large-scale’ deposit from the mapped strike length and widths of mineralisation.

Mineralisation is developed in the Gunpowder Creek Formation that hosts the aforementioned resources.

Managing Director Marty Costello says Camp Gossans is now a confirmed company priority target at Mt Oxide.

“Despite significant historical investment by previous Mt Oxide owners at the Vero Resource, multiple prospects including Camp Gossans, have never been systematically explored or drill tested.

We look forward to sharing our progress and achievements as we venture into this exciting and transformative phase of production, development and exploration including commencing mining operations at our Cloncurry Copper Project, advancing our 2024 exploration program and developing Mt Oxide into our next mine.”

One of the company’s 2024 priority exploration targets, Camp Gossans is 1.2km along strike from the Vero Resource at True North’s Mt Oxide Project. The company completed sampling at Camp Gossans in December 2023.

A total of 177 rock chip samples, including 47 samples from 4 continuous rock chip channels, were collected during the field program.

True North Copper is a precious metals-focused explorer headquartered in Cairns. The company has assets across Queensland that are prospective for precious and critical minerals.

As of December 2023, the company had over $1.635 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest half yearly report.
