True North adjusts direction with new General Manager

True North Copper (ASX:TNC) has appointed Matt Varvari as the company’s General Manager of operations in order to provide strengthened executive leadership and execution capability as the Cloncurry Copper Project advances through a Prefeasibility Study.

Varvari has experience in project studies, mine development, and operation readiness, which True North says aligns with its beginning of a “robust, right-sized Prefeasibility Study”.

He previously worked with Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV), leading its Hillgrove Antimony-Gold Project in New South Wales through studies, permitting, and operational readiness.

True North says his experience at Larvotto reflects on the development pathway of the Cloncurry Project, as well as across the company’s greater portfolio.

At the Cloncurry Project, Varvari will control key development risks, optimise scale and capital efficiency, and progress permitting and stakeholder engagement.

Managing Director Andrew Mooney says the appointment reinforces True North’s focus on disciplined execution.

“As we progress the Cloncurry Copper Project through a robust Prefeasibility Study, his role is to help control threats while unlocking opportunities identified through recent drilling results and development options emerging from ongoing technical studies,” Mooney says.

“This strengthens our ability to deliver a credible, capital-efficient development case.

“Matt also brings deep experience in guiding assets through study and development, providing the discipline and leadership needed to progress Mt Oxide and the broader True North Copper portfolio in parallel.

“Just as importantly, he brings a values-led, people-first leadership style that aligns with our focus on safety, culture, and accountability as we grow.”

True North Copper is focused on advancing its portfolio of copper assets in North Queensland.
