Trek Metals generates new mineralisation model at Pincunah Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag Project, WA

Battery metals focused minerals explorer Trek Metals (ASX:TKM) reports it has generated a new mineralisation model following a review of exploration data from the Valley of the Gossans (VOG) deposit, as part of its greater Pincunah Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag Project in WA. 

The data review was undertaken by independent geological and mining consultant CSA Global and indicates that mineralisation hosted at the VOG prospect is likely to be of epithermal origin and has the potential to be capable of hosting ‘significant’ precious metals. 

This updated epithermal mineralisation model further indicates that there is a greater chance of precious metals occurring higher in the system along strike at the untested Conductor ‘A’ target. 

Drilling at Conductor ‘A’ is expected to commence in the near future, following the completion of a recent heritage survey with the Nyamal traditional owners and the return of all necessary approvals.    

Speaking on the results, Trek Metals CEO, Derek Marshall said: “The recent findings from the CSA Global review show that the mineralisation at VOG is likely of epithermal origin and that gold is associated with the most highly mineralised samples. This has several ‘significant’ implications for the project. Firstly, the previously drill tested portion of VOG is likely to be too deep in the system to host ‘significant’ precious metals, although there is the potential for a deeper gold-rich porphyry system at depth.

Secondly, and of more immediate interest, the prospectivity of Conductor ‘A’ has been ‘significantly’ increased, with the area likely to represent a higher level within the same mineralised system.

We are looking forward to integrating the soil sampling data from the recent Pilbara Minerals tenement acquisition with our existing dataset over both VOG and Conductor ‘A’ prior to undertaking further drill testing at the project.

We are now looking forward to completing the tenement acquisition from Pilbara Minerals, analysing the soil results, and further developing our exploration plans ahead of our next round of targeted drilling.”

The company also notes that data from the VOG prospect suggests that current exposure is deep in the system and below potential economic gold mineralisation. 

In addition, Trek Mining’s complementary strategic acquisition for 100% ownership of tenement E45/4640, which covers the ground directly adjacent to Conductor ‘A’, from lithium producer Pilbara Minerals (ASX:PLS) is close to completion. 

Soil sampling was conducted across the tenement to test for extensions to the known anomalism defined by soils on Trek Metal’s ground at the VOG prospect and Conductor ‘A’, with assays currently pending. 

Trek Metals is an ASX-listed company with a focus on exploring and developing critical metals that are essential in the production of lithium ion batteries. The company’s Pincunah project is located 100km south of Port Hedland and only 25km west of the Sulphur Springs, owned by high-performance project creator Develop Global (ASX:DVP), which demonstrates typical VMS morphology with a copper-zinc rich massive sulphide lens underlain by a copper-rich stringer zone up to 50m in width. 

With the data review of exploration data received to date now complete, Trek Metals announces that it remains focused on completing the tenement acquisition from Pilbara Minerals ahead of its next round of targeted drilling.
