Toubani Resources’ (ASX:TRE) bulk earthworks campaign is “progressing rapidly” after clearing and levelling the process plant site within the Kobada Project in Mali, pushing the project towards gold production.
The water storage dam and turkey’s nest are on track to be completed in the coming weeks, before the wet season begins.
Toubani began clearing the airstrip and permanent areas last month, with the construction of the airstrip and tailings storage facilities identified as the next priorities for the campaign.
The company has also largely completed upgrades to Kobada’s existing accommodation facilities, which have been used as the construction camp.
The first items of equipment have likewise arrived in Mali, including steel plates for carbon-in-leach tanks, which will be delivered to the tank fabricator’s yard in Bamako.
Meanwhile, the high density polyethylene liner for the tailings storage facility is currently at port and will be shipped to Kobada in the next few weeks.
Around 20% of the structural steel has been fabricated to date, with shipping to begin this month.
Toubani aims to meet its target for initial gold production at Kobada in Q3 2027, with Managing Director Phil Russo revealing that the project is well on track to achieve this milestone.
“The significant advancement made on site over recent months underscores the strong execution capability of the project team and provides confidence as we prepare to transition into the major construction phase,” Russo says.
“The team has continued to deliver key project milestones through a period of considerable activity on site.
“Site mobilisation has now grown to nearly 500 employees and contractors, highlighting the increasing scale and momentum of development activities.”
Toubani Resources is an exploration and development company focused on advancing the Kobada Gold Project in Mali, which has a resource of 2.2 million ounces of gold.
