Toubani launches largest drill program at Kobada

Toubani Resources (ASX:TRE) has launched its 2026 drill program at the Kobada Gold Project in southern Mali, the company’s largest ever drill program, with up to 100,000m of drilling planned across the project this year.

The drill program comprises 60,000m of reverse circulation drilling to expand the resource base, 40,000m of aircore drilling to test regional targets and develop a pipeline of development prospects, and additional diamond core drilling to test for high-grade mineralisation.

In conjunction with the drilling, Toubani is planning for an updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) this year, as drilling has been intersecting mineralisation outside of the current MRE.

Managing Director Phil Russo says that the company’s “dual-track exploration strategy”  has been delivering encouraging results at surface and at depth.

“Following the establishment of a substantial near-surface oxide gold MRE in 2024 — largely classified within the high-confidence indicated category —  we have now generated new drill intersections that will be incorporated into an upcoming MRE update,” Russo says.

“This is expected to grow our oxide ounces while adding further fresh inventory.

“I am confident this will mark the first of several increases to the Kobada MRE as we advance an intensive, systematic exploration program across our regional prospects and test the 50km of known mineralised structures at Kobada.

“The high-grade intersections returned from diamond drilling are particularly encouraging and are already informing the direction of our next drill campaign.”

Current drilling is targeting the southern extension of the Kobada deposit where drilling in 2023 identified mineralisation including 3m @ 1.81 grams per tonne from 50m and 3m @ 1.2g/t from 61m, 1m @ 8.35g/t from 68m and 3m @ 1.8g/t from 82m.

Toubani is also targeting mineralisation at Foroko, Gosso, and Kobada West, where mineralisation has been intersected in previous drilling.

The company has recently received significant financing and has announced the achievement of significant milestones, as previously reported, to ensure that they can move forward with the Kobada project workstreams.

Toubani Resources has a board and management team with significant experience in advancing African projects and is currently focused on advancing the Kobada Gold Project in southern Mali.
