Toubani Resources (ASX:TRE) has appointed Corica Mining Services as the mining contractor for the Kobada Gold Project in southern Mali.
The contract holds an initial term of five years following the completion of a comprehensive tender process.
Both parties are finalising long-form documentation regarding the appointment and have placed initial equipment orders.
The mining fleet is scheduled to mobilise on site in Q4 2026 before the first ore is anticipated in Q1 2027, ahead of the processing plant being commissioned.
Toubani Managing Director Phil Russo says the appointment of Corica “marks another major step forward as Kobada moves closer to operations”.
“Partnering with a highly experienced and proven mining contractor like Corica strengthens Kobada’s path to production, and we look forward to building a long-term relationship together,” Russo says.
“With mobilisation of the mining fleet underway, the project remains on track to meet its development schedule.”
Corica is described as a “highly experienced” mining contractor that has an extensive track record with West African operations.
It has more than 20 years of experience providing mining services, currently focused on large-scale operations owned by ASX- and TSX-listed mining companies.
Corica has more than 3,500 employees and a fleet of 1,250 units.
Toubani Resources is an advanced gold developer focused on bringing its oxide-dominant Kobada Gold Project in Mali into production, with a completed Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and a fully funded pathway to construction.
