Tivan (ASX:TVN) has established a ‘landmark’ community development initiative with the Central Land Council (CLC) to provide up to $1 million in funding over four years to support Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders in Central Australia.
The grant will be made under a funding deed between Tivan and the CLC and managed by the CLC’s Community Development Program to ensure transparency and optimisation for the community.
The funding will be structured as $250,000 in initial funding immediately following the signing of the deed, with three additional funding stages of up to $250,000 over the following three years.
The CLC says that funding will be directed toward community development initiatives.
Executive Chairman Grant Wilson says that Tivan is proud to support this initiative, providing funding for some of the most remote communities in Australia.
“For too long resources companies in the Territory have adopted an adversarial and transactional approach to land access, and have focused on bare minimum outcomes in respect of Aboriginal Australians,” Wilson says.
“Tivan is different. The early and genuine inclusion of Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders is a foundational principle at our company, and we are committed to furthering a durable alignment of interests throughout the project development lifecycle.”
Tivan has an extensive footprint in Central Australia, with the Molyhil Tungsten Project, Sandover Fluorite Project, and the Sandover Al Project. The company is currently advancing exploration and development across it projects, with a priority on Molyhil and Sandover.
Tivan is an Australian diversified critical minerals company with projects in Central Australia.
