Tinka winds up Huwaymidan drilling

Tinka Resources (TSX-V:TK) has completed a 3,400m reconnaissance drilling program at the Huwaymidan Gold Project in Saudi Arabia.

The 46-hole program targeted gold mineralisation identified by selective surface sampling at two target areas covering a potential gold trend of more than 5km. Drilling intersected wide zones of pervasive hydrothermal alteration and quartz veining, features consistent with a large orogenic gold system.

Assay results from the program are expected to be late Q1 2026. Subject to results, a follow-up drilling program is planned for Q2 2026.

CEO Graham Carman says Huwaymidan is located in a proven gold belt just 30km along the trend of Maaden’s (TADAWUL:1211) Ar Rjum Project.

“We believe Huwaymidan has the potential to be a district-scale gold target,” Carman says.

“The exploration programs at Huwaymidan are fully-funded by our local Saudi partner until mid 2027. The main focus of Tinka’s exploration remains our 100% owned Ayawilca Zinc-Silver Project, and our early exploration stage Silvia Gold-Copper Project in Peru.”

In late-August 2025, Tinka acquired a minority stake in Huwaymidan, as previously reported. The project covers 34km2 and is located in the Jiddah Terrane of the Saudi Arabian Shield.

Tinka Resources is a mineral explorer and developer focused on base and precious metals.

This latest news comes amid the Future Minerals Forum (FMF), held in Riyadh from 13-15 January 2025.

Previously speaking to this news service, FMF Director of Strategy and Content Aldo Pennini said attendance at next year’s event is expected to increase from 18,000 in 2025 and 3,500 in 2022.

“The program has expanded to include more than 160 global speakers, including CEOs of the world’s biggest mining companies,” Pennini says.

The 2026 event’s theme ‘Dawn of a Global Cause’ suggests a shift in how the minerals sector positions itself globally. The theme represents two meanings for FMF – a commitment by countries to collaborate and a development-driven agenda.
