Tinka reassesses Colquipucro amid record silver prices

Tinka Resources (TSX-V:TK) is conducting a reassessment of the Colquipucro silver deposit in Peru, in light of silver currently at or near record highs.

Planned work includes a reinterpretation of the geology of the deposit, as well as a review of the available metallurgy and silver recovery assumptions.

CEO Graham Carman says the Colquipucro silver deposit is somewhat of a forgotten asset within the company’s portfolio.

“The last time that company carried out drilling at Colquipucro was in 2015,” Carman says.

“With silver prices having more than trebled, and with our much-improved knowledge of the geology of the Ayawilca district as a result of multiple studies, this is the perfect time for a reassessment of this project.”

According to Trading Economics, silver climbed above US$63 ($94.76) an ounce on Monday (15 December), setting to reach new record highs. The rally is supported by tightening inventories, robust industrial demand, and the metal’s inclusion on the US critical minerals list.

Colquipucro’s resource database includes 8,700m of drilling across 49 drillholes. The resources were estimated to be contained within several north-dipping high-grade lenses surrounded by a low-grade halo.

This news comes after Tinka completed two diamond drillholes at the Silvia Gold-Copper Project in Peru. The holes tested beneath outcrops of gold-copper surface mineralisation at Area A, one of three priority targets in the Silvia northwest area.

Both holes were drilled from the same platform to a downhole depth of 250m. Tinka is awaiting the assay results.

A third hole is currently in progress from a platform 100m north, to a planned downhole depth of 400m. A fourth hole is expected to begin during December for completion in January 2026.

In conjunction, Tinka has appointed Wilma Lee as corporate secretary of the company, as of 1 December 2025. Lee provides experience in corporate governance and compliance.

Tinka Resources is a mineral explorer and developer primarily focused on base and precious metal projects in Peru.
