Tempest Minerals (ASX:TEM) is making preparations for a reverse circulation drilling program at several priority targets within the Range Project in Western Australia, after conducting a surface sampling program.
The program is scheduled to begin late September, due to the drill contractor’s current program in the Goldfields region being extended.
The surface sampling results will drive the expansion of the upcoming drilling program at the Wrangler and Defender targets.
Additional drilling will be added to test the Cherokee target, where rock chip results yielded peak values of more than 1 gram per tonne gold.
The recent reconnaissance field sampling program was conducted at Cherokee to better understand the local controls on mineralisation.
Once drilling is completed, auger geochemical sampling will be undertaken at the Evoque target. In parallel, Tempest expects to receive further assay results from a recent geochemical sampling program.
The Range Project, located in the Mount Magnet mineral field, sits 5km-along strike of the more than 6 million ounce Mount Magnet Operations. The project, covering 20km2, consists of 17 tenements.
