Tempest Minerals (ASX:TEM) is assessing a successor for Non-Executive Chairman Brian Moller, who will retire from the board on 7 December.
Moller informed the board of his intention to step down. He will remain in the role through the company’s 2026 annual general meeting on 27 November, ensuring continuity during the transition.
He joined the board in October 2016 and has served as non-executive chairman since November 2017.
Moller says his tenure on the board has been rewarding.
“It has been a privilege to serve on the board of Tempest,” Moller states.
Speaking for the board, Managing Director Don Smith acknowledged Moller’s contribution and leadership over the past decade.
“On behalf of the entire board, I wish to express my gratitude to Brian for his leadership and contribution made to Tempest,” Smith says.
“We wish him every success for the future.”
The board will assess a replacement during the transition and update the market in due course. Tempest says it will continue to advance its exploration and corporate strategy in the meantime.
Tempest refocuses on Western Australian portfolio
Tempest Minerals is an Australian exploration company with a diversified portfolio across Western Australia, including the Mount Magnet and Five Wheels projects.
Its flagship Yalgoo Project hosts the Remorse magnetite deposit, which has a JORC inferred resource of 63.5 million tonnes @ 30.6% iron.
The company completed the $4.5 million sale of the broader Yalgoo Project to Capricorn Metals (ASX:CMM) in February, retaining iron rights over the Remorse and Halo tenements.
It has also signed a binding option agreement with Green Steel and Iron (GISA) over the Remorse Magnetite Project. Under the agreement, Tempest would receive a 50% stake in GISA if the option is exercised.
The leadership change comes as Tempest progresses the GISA option process over its Remorse magnetite deposit, having terminated its proposed New Zealand gold acquisition in May 2026.
