Tempest Minerals (ASX:TEM) has begun a 1,500m reverse circulation drilling program at the Range Project in Mt Magnet, Western Australia, which will test high-priority gold targets.
The targets include several where gold rock chips were recently found at surface.
Initial drilling is planned to test the Britannia Well extensions, which appear to host mineralised banded iron formation and felsic porphyry also present in the nearby historical Britannia Well mine and has 1 gram per tonne gold in rock chips along strike of the open pit.
An auger sampling program is also being carried out on the south side of the project. This program, as well as drilling, is expected to be completed in October 2025, with results expected mid-Q4 2025.
The Range Project, covering 20km2, sits central to the Mt Magnet gold mining region. The region has an extensive drilling history with upwards of 8,000 holes present within a 20km radius of the township.
