Sunshine Metals (ASX:SHN) has been awarded a $202,235 grant through Round 10 of the Queensland Government’s Collaborative Exploration Initiative, funding a single diamond drill hole at the Trooper Creek target, 35km south of Charters Towers and 23km east of the flagship Liontown deposit.
Managing Director Damien Keys says that the Trooper Creek target is an “exciting coincident geophysical and geochemical anomaly” which is untested.
“The correlation between conductivity and chargeability is compelling and may relate to significant sulphides at depth,” Keys says.
“This funding through the Queensland Government’s CEO scheme allows Sunshine to test prospective early-stage satellite targets, while maintaining our focus on advancing Liontown toward production and defining our high-grade epithermal system at Sybil.”
Sunshine is targeting gold-silver-copper-zinc mineralisation of volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) style. The diamond drill hole will test the centre of the chargeability anomaly and is expected to commence in June 2026.
Sunshine is prepping for a busy period with grade control drilling results expected this month, the Liontown shallow gold resource upgrade in April 2026, and the Sybil magnetic survey commencing April 2026 as well.
Sunshine Metals will be attending the Gold Coast Gold conference on 25-26 March 2026 as well.
