Sun Silver (ASX:SS1) has doubled its landholding at the Maverick Springs Silver-Gold Project in Nevada, US, after staking an additional 427 lode claims to the north and south of the project.
The additional claims total an area of 35.7km2, providing the company with a 219% increase to its landholding.
Managing Director Andrew Dornan says the acquisition of these additional lodes materially strengthens the long-term upside of Maverick Springs.
“These newly staked claims extend our footprint along strike of the existing mineral resource and capture highly prospective ground that we believe has strong potential to host additional silver and gold mineralisation,” Dornan says.
“Importantly, the expanded landholding not only enhances exploration optionality but also provides greater flexibility for future development and infrastructure as Maverick Springs continues to advance.”
Sun Silver says it will continue to focus on advancing this project with exploration and development opportunities.
Maverick Springs hosts an inferred resource of 237 million tonnes @ 45.5 grams per tonne silver and 0.30g/t gold for 347.2 million ounces of contained silver and 2.25 million ounces of contained gold.
