Strickland Metals (ASX:STK) says it has de-risked future development of the Yandal Gold Project in Western Australia, following completion of metallurgical testwork at the Horse Well Gold Camp.
The testwork shows the gold mineralisation is amenable to conventional processing and treatment with high gold recovery up to 88.6% and gravity gold recoveries up to 32.5%.
Strickland, which has a market capitalisation of $174.38 million, says this testwork shows that fresh ore from the Palomino deposit is amenable to treatment by conventional gravity and cyanide leaching processes.
The testwork confirms that gold mineralisation at Horse Well can be processed by SABC milling or three-stage crushing and treated by gravity and cyanide leach processes.
The company plans to continue exploring for extensions to mineralisation at depth and down-plunge, as well as advancing the mining lease application to unlock value of the near-surface deposits.
Managing Director Paul L’Herpiniere says analysis shows that samples contained no carbon or arsenic and very low silver, meaning there is low potential for gold recoveries to be negatively impacted by preg-robbing during cyanidation and has an associated low possibility of excess cyanide consumption.
“By completing metallurgical testwork of fresh ore we have successfully de-risked future development including drilling that will target high-grade extensions to the Warmblood and Palomino deposits at depth and down plunge,” L’Herpiniere says.
“These results continue to reinforce the significant potential of the Horse Well Gold Camp, and our broader Yandal Project, as an exciting growth and value creation opportunity located in close proximity to Northern Star’s Jundee gold mine.”
Further, Strickland intends to release an updated resource estimate for the Horse Well Gold Camp in the coming weeks, as well as advance exploration of the intrusion-related gold mineralisation at the Dusk ‘til Dawn Gold Camp.
The Yandal Gold Project, spanning 70km of tenure, is adjacent to Northern Star Resources’ (ASX:NST) Yandal Operations Centre, with the Horse Well Camp located within 50km of the Jundee Gold Mine.
