Star Copper (CSE:STCU) has completed drill pad construction across multiple satellite targets within the Star Project in British Columbia.
This news comes ahead of the beginning of exploration drilling, which is designed to test the broader district-scale porphyry potential of the overall Star Project.
CEO Darryl Jones says completing drill pad construction across the Star North, Star East, and Copper Creek targets is an “important” operational milestone as the company moves into what is believed to be a “transformational” season for the project.
“With multiple targets now drill-ready, a second drill rig arriving in early June, and with advanced 3D geophysics planned to refine deeper targets at Star Main, we believe the company is uniquely positioned to evaluate the broader district-scale potential of the system while continuing to advance toward a maiden resource,” Jones says.
The upcoming 2026 program represents the largest and most comprehensive exploration campaign completed on the property to date. The program aims to evaluate multiple targets that exhibit geological, geochemical, and geophysical signatures analogous to the Star Main target.
Shooting for the stars
At Star East, the company is preparing to conduct the first ‘meaningful’ drilling of a 1km by 1km coincident geophysical and geochemical anomaly located 500m east of Star Main.
Star East is the largest footprint of the five porphyry targets but is largely covered with outcrops so no exposed mineralisation has been uncovered. The target shares several characteristics with Star Main and is considered a priority discovery target for the 2026 season.
Drill pads at Star East have been strategically positioned to test interpreted structural corridors and potential parallel or offset porphyry centres within the broader Star system.
Meanwhile, initial drilling at Copper Creek and Star North will focus on where previous exploration confirmed copper-gold mineralisation associated with coincident chargeability highs and elevated copper in-soil anomalies.
This year’s drilling will focus on the geophysical feature roughly 500m to the northwest.
Further, Star Copper has completed substantial upgrades and refurbishment work regarding camp infrastructure to support expanded operations. This includes accommodation, logistics staging, fuel storage, and drill support capability required for the multi-rig program.
