Star Copper (CSE:STCU) is preparing to expedite a 2026 drill program at the Star Project in Canada, via deploying an advanced deep-penetrating 3D induced polarisation survey.
The company is undertaking the technology-focused survey using advanced multi-parameter distributed technology, developed by deep-imaging geophysical solutions provider Quantec Geoscience.
Results from the survey will be integrated into Star Copper’s three-dimensional geologic model and are expected to directly inform drill targeting, hole orientation, and depth selection for a planned aggressive drill program.
Star Copper aims to prioritise high-impact drill targets capable of materially advancing the scale and quality of mineralisation at its namesake project.
CEO Darryl Jones says the technology is particularly well-suited for porphyry copper exploration in British Columbia, where many deposits extend well below the limits of conventional geophysical methods and early-stage drilling.
“Notably, deep-penetrating induced polarisation and magnetotellurics technologies developed by Quantec were instrumental in advancing the geological understanding of the Red Chris Mine, where deeper high-grade mineralisation was identified beneath the known deposit, demonstrating the importance of imaging the full vertical extent of porphyry systems,” Jones says.
Star is an alkalic copper-gold porphyry project located within the Golden Triangle and Golden Horseshoe regions of British Columbia, Canada.
