SSR Mining Inc. (ASX: SSR) has reported a series of positive gold intercepts including 6.98m @ 19.16 g/t Au from a 127-hole drill program at its Seabee project in Saskatchewan, Canada.
The results, which were reported from the project’s Gap Hanging Wall, Santoy Hanging Wall and Joker targets, form part of a strategy by the miner to prove a ‘substantial extension’ of mineralisation at Seabee via drilling through to the end of 2021
“These results support our view that Seabee continues to host potential for significant mine life extension”
The Gap Hanging Wall is being drilled from underground drives extending from the project’s Santoy Mine. Significant results include 6.98m @ 19.16 g/t Au and 9.47m @ 12.14 g/t Au. Current drilling is aimed at upgrading existing mineral resources (300,000oz indicated and 167,000oz inferred) and converting them into mineral reserves in 2022.
The Santoy Hanging Wall is the most recent discovery, with current drilling undertaken from both surface and underground drives within the Santoy mine. Key intercepts include 2.83m @ 12.75 g/t Au, 2.24m @ 11.31 g/t Au, and 3.56m @ 16.31 g/t Au. Drilling at SHW is aimed at proving viability as a potential future development of the Santoy Mine, with a mineral resource expected in 2022 pending further positive drill results. The mine serves as production feed for the Seabee processing plant, located 15km away via haul road.
Results from the Joker target, which is focused on continuity of mineralisation to the south of the Santoy Mine, include 1.49m @ 25.97 g/t Au and 0.75m @ 21.48g/t Au.

Commenting on the results, SSR President and CEO Rod Antal said: “These results support our view that Seabee continues to host potential for significant mine life extension, well beyond that of the defined resources and reserves. Our teams are accelerating the exploration effort at Seabee to facilitate longer term investment decisions, including the possibility of increasing annual production rates.
SSR’s holdings comprise a 100%-owned parcel referred to as the Seabee claims, along with the 80%-owned Fisher property. SSR acquired Seabee on May 31, 2016 as a result of its acquisition of Claude Resources Inc.
The project is located in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada approximately 125km northeast of the town of La Ronge. The Santoy underground mine has been in continuous commercial production since 2014.
