Solis Minerals (ASX:SLM) has confirmed two copper-gold porphyry and iron-oxide copper-gold targets at the Chocolate Project in southern Peru.
The company received magnetic drone survey data, revealing rock geochemical assays which returned up to 4.92% copper and 2.47 grams per tonne gold as part of its iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) targets.
Solis Minerals, which has a market capitalisation of $10.10 million, is planning to conduct further geophysics and geochemistry surveys to refine and prioritise drill targets.
Executive Director Mike Parker says the exploration teams will continue to investigate the extensive land package at Chocolate, as well as increase evidence of mineralisation exposed at surface, with geophysical data indicating the potential for large mineral systems.
“Even at this early exploration stage, we believe that Chocolate’s position between Ilo Este and Chancho Al Palo, along the same geological trend, is already enhancing the prospectivity of our Coastal Belt target zone,” Parker says.
“We will continue systematic exploration to identify drill targets and expand our highly prospective pipeline of drilling opportunities in the area.”
To date, only 10% of the project area has been investigated, and as such, the company is continuing mapping and systematic sampling guided by the magnetometry anomalies.
As mapping and geochemistry advance, the more prospective anomalies are being evaluated for follow-up with induced polarisation geophysical surveys leading to drill testing in late 2025.
The Chocolate Project comprises seven exploration concessions totalling 6,100 hectares on the Coastal Belt of southern Peru.
Solis Minerals is a copper-focused explorer with assets across South America. The company has projects in Peru and Brazil, covering a total 65,100 hectares.
The company will be exhibiting at this year’s Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) event being held from 2-5 March in Toronto, Canada.
The annual award winning convention brings together up to 30,000 attendees from over 130 countries for its educational programming, networking events, as well as business and investment opportunities.
