Solis expands Chancho al Palo’s mineralisation

Solis Minerals (ASX:SLM) has intersected visible copper and gold in a second drillhole of a diamond drilling program at its wholly owned Chancho al Palo Project.

The drillhole displayed tourmaline-specularite breccia with malachite mineralisation, estimated with a grade of 0.5% copper from 49.20m of the total 697m depth.

Along with the first drillhole returning iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) and porphyry style mineralisation, the total program is expected to comprise three to five drillholes.

The company will progress with a third drillhole to test geophysical anomalies, in search of a cross-fault structure that is similar to porphyry mineralisation at its Ilo Este property.

Samples will be shipped to the laboratory shortly, with results expected to be returned in the coming weeks.

CEO Mitch Thomas says the company is encouraged with its extension to the mineralised system at Chancho al Palo.

“The coexistence of IOCG and porphyry-style mineralisation, reinforced by alteration features and geochemical indicators, continues to validate our targeting approach,” Thomas says.

“We believe these early results strengthen the case for a potential copper-gold system, aligned with our objectives.”

Solis Minerals is a copper explorer focused on developing its South American portfolio with concessions totalling 63,400 hectares.
