Silver47 eyes path towards growing West Tundra Flats resource

Silver47 Exploration Corp (TSX-V:AGA) has received drilling results which suggest a path to increase the size and grade of the West Tundra Flats prospect’s resource, as part of the Red Mountain Project in the US.

The West Tundra Flats mineral resource contains 4 million tonnes at 496.9 grams per tonne silver-equivalent for 64.6 million ounces of silver-equivalent.

Vice President of Exploration Alex Walli says the company aims to increase the resources’ size and grade via using modern drilling to fill the widely spaced historical drilling.

This news comes after Silver47 two diamond drill core holes at the West Tundra Flats resource area for a combined 331m at the Red Mountain Project. Both drillholes cut “high-grade” silver-zinc-lead-gold-copper zones within a wider sulphide mineralisation horizon.

Drillhole WT24-33 returned 22.03m at 177.10g/t silver-equivalent, including 2.90m @ 1,078.8g/t silver-equivalent; and drillhole WT24-34 returned 4.37m @ 656.2g/t silver-equivalent, including 1.47m @ 1,488.4g/t silver-equivalent.

Wallis adds that historical drilling had poor core recovery at West Tundra Flats, including through mineralised intervals.

“The high-percentage core recovery achieved in 2024 gives us an opportunity to improve upon the already robust grade reported from the 1980’s drilling,” Wallis says.

The West Tundra Flats prospect was first discovered in 1981 as a surface gossan on the south bank of Dry Creek. The West Tundra Flats horizon remains open laterally and at depth.

Silver47 says the prospect exhibits pinching and swelling of sulphide lenses typical of volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralisation.

The Red Mountain Project, covering 633km2, is located in Alaska, US. The project hosts a mineral resource estimate of 15.6 million tonnes at 7% zinc-equivalent for 1 million tonnes of zinc-equivalent and 335.7g/t silver-equivalent for 168.6 million ounces of silver-equivalent.
