Silver One restarts drilling at Candelaria

Silver One Resources (TSX-V:SVE) has announced it is resuming drilling at its Candelaria Silver Project in Nevada, US, after appointing Major Drilling (TSX:MDI) to undertake the campaign.

The original program, announced in May, was halted after commencing due to operational issues. Silver One says no holes were completed, while the single hole initiated was abandoned.

Mobilisation is underway, with drilling scheduled to begin following site setup, which Silver One expects to complete approximately one day after mobilisation.

The planned 20,000–25,000m reverse circulation and potential diamond drilling campaign will retain its original technical objectives, according to the company.

These include resource expansion drilling adjacent to existing measured, indicated, and inferred resources, as well as testing silver oxide, mixed oxide-sulphide, and deeper porphyry-style coppersilvergold targets identified through previous geophysical surveys.

The company says the program will also include condemnation drilling to support infrastructure planning for potential future development scenarios.

CEO Greg Crowe says the company prioritised finding a contractor capable of safely and efficiently delivering the campaign following the termination of its earlier drilling contract.

“Major Drilling brings the scale, experience, and reliability required for a program of this magnitude. With their involvement, we are confident in our ability to advance drilling at Candelaria and continue demonstrating the district-scale potential of this historic silver project,” Crowe says.

Silver One says Major Drilling’s operational and technical capabilities are expected to support progress throughout the summer and autumn drilling season.

The company holds a 100% interest in Candelaria, a past-producing mine that hosts measured, indicated, and inferred resources. Silver One says the project offers potential to reprocess silver from historical leach pads and expand mineralisation down dip and along strike from two past-producing open pits.

Silver One also holds the Cherokee Project in Nevada, which hosts silver-copper-gold vein systems, and the Silver Phoenix Project in Arizona.
