Savannah Goldfields (ASX:SVG) has achieved over 70% gold recovery from recently completed metallurgical testwork on late 2025 samples of sulphide material from its Electric Light and Red Dam deposits.
Electric Light and Red Dam form part of the company’s Georgetown Gold Project, located approximately 30km north and 60km north of Savannah’s Georgetown Gold Processing Plant (GGPP), respectively.
Testing achieved 71.6% total gold recovery for Electric Light, comprising 38.2% gravity recovery and an additional 33.4% cyanidation recovery from gravity tails.
Meanwhile, Red Dam reached 70.7% total recovery, with 32.1% from gravity and 38.6% cyanidation recovery from gravity tails.
Head grades for the metallurgical samples were 3.0 grams per tonne gold for Electric Light and 17.2g/t gold for Red Dam.
Savannah CEO Brad Sampson says these results “provide important information to help assess the potential to economically process Electric Light and Red Dam sulphide ores through the existing Georgetown Gold Processing Plant.”
The company notes that historical flotation testing shows ‘significant improvement’ in gold recoveries are possible, with previous work delivering 94.9% recovery for Red Dam and 97.4% for Electric Light.
This, according to Savannah, can be achieved via the installation of a flotation plant at the GGPP.
With this, the company is planning additional flotation testing in 2026 to validate historical results and provide additional data.
