Reach Resources begins grade control drilling at Murchison South

Reach Resources (ASX:RR1) has commenced a 5,200m grade control drilling program at the proposed NW Pit at its Murchison South Gold Project near Paynes Find in Western Australia.

The program comprises approximately 200 reverse circulation drill holes on a 10m by 10m grid, targeting the first five proposed mining benches from surface.

Reach prioritised the NW Pit through partner Andel Resources’ mine pit optimisation process following completion of its due diligence.

“We are moving directly to grade control drilling at the NW Pit based on Andel’s mine pit designs, providing another demonstration of our partner’s confidence in the project,” CEO Jeremy Bower says.

“Andel’s mine engineers have identified three pits for the proposed first-stage mine plan, which is expected to be finalised in the coming weeks. The initial focus will be on the NW Pit as the proposed starter pit.”

Drilling follows Andel’s completion of due diligence and entry into a binding right to mine agreement, announced on 18 August 2026. The program will provide information for detailed mine scheduling and development by its subsidiary SMS Mining.

The NW Pit forms part of a three-pit open-cut mine plan being progressed by Andel. The company’s strategy involves developing the NW Pit as a starter pit before commencing subsequent pits, staging capital deployment across the project.

Reach continues to progress its mining proposal as it receives further design information from Andel. The company is also examining step-out drilling along the Primrose Shear, with drill plans to be advised in coming weeks.

“Subject to approval of the mining proposal and receipt of all other required approvals, we are working towards a potential commencement of mining in early 2027,” Bower says.

Reach Resources holds a diversified portfolio led by the Murchison South Gold Project, alongside a strategic shareholding in Delta Lithium (ASX:DLI) and an investment in REEcycle, which has developed patented rare earth recycling technology.
