Rapid Critical Metals (ASX:RCM) has extended mineralisation more than 300m south of its current resource following drilling at the Webbs Silver Project in New South Wales.
Standout results from 20 holes were headlined by 4m @ 1,230 grams per tonne silver equivalent (AgEq) from 136m in hole WSRC0019. The ‘high-grade’ zone sits within a broader 37.4m intersection grading 278.8g/t AgEq from 126.6m.
Managing Director Byron Miles says the results demonstrate both ‘exceptional’ grade and significant width.
“WSRC0019 is a standout result by any measure,” Miles says.
“Exceptional grade and real width in the same intersection is exactly what we have been drilling for.”
Rapid notes the silver grade of 981g/t over 4m in WSRC0019 equates to 28.6 ounces per tonne, approximately 25% higher than the 23 ounces per tonne average grade of ore mined at Webbs between 1884 and 1901.
Meanwhile, a second intercept in WSRC0028 returned 7m @ 641.8g/t AgEq from 75m in the main Webbs lode to the north. Hole WSRC0012 also extended mineralisation more than 300m south of the resource, with 2m @ 118g/t AgEq from 117m.
“Webbs is behaving like a mineralised corridor rather than a single lode, and it is still open in every direction we test,” Miles notes.
Other key results include 15m @ 200.3g/t AgEq from 60m, incorporating 1m @ 1,605g/t AgEq, and 12m @ 107.3g/t AgEq from 71m.
Rapid reports it has received environmental approvals for the Webbs Consol Project and booked a third drilling rig to join the program within weeks.
Planned work includes follow-up drilling to test interpreted parallel lodes and the southern extension, resource growth drilling, and updates to geological and resource models.
The company says it remains well funded to advance exploration across its New South Wales silver portfolio, with assays for the remaining holes pending.
Located near Emmaville in northern New South Wales, Webbs sits in the New England Fold Belt and includes the historic Webbs silver mine. The main deposit contains a JORC resource of 2.2 million tonnes @ 205g/t AgEq, totalling roughly 14.2 million ounces AgEq.
