Ragnar continues Orrvik exploration campaign

Ragnar Metals (ASX:RAG) is gearing up for a biogeochemistry survey at its Orrvik Lithium Project in Sweden as part of a series of ongoing exploration work programs.

The $9.95 million market capitalisation company says the survey will utilise the dead bark of trees as natural sampling tools which will absorb trace elements from soil, bedrock, and water. This will provide insights into geochemical compositions in regions where desired rocks may be obscured.

Data from the survey, along with all collected geophysical data from recent ground gravity and airborne drone surveys, as well as an upcoming field season in the northern hemisphere summer, are expected to position Ragnar for an inaugural channel and/or drilling campaign on its lithium assets.

Executive Director Eddie King says: “We have designed and executed a various range of geophysical programs during the winter season in Sweden as the presence of snow cover obstructs the outcropping geology and hinders field reconnaissance trips.

The resistivity survey has produced some impressive results along strike from spodumene bearing pegmatites with some areas that have yet to undergo drill testing.”

According to Ragnar, the range of surveys have all been designed to delineate potential drill targets at Orrvik ahead of the summer field program, with 3 new ‘large’ target areas to the west of historical drilling already uncovered from an electric resistivity tomography (ERT).

The target areas could represent pegmatite bodies which have not been drill tested and are open to the north and south.

Further, a ‘notable’ high resistivity anomaly has been identified in correlation with exposed spodumene-bearing pegmatites that are ‘important’ as a proof of concept for the technology.

As reported by Mining.com.au, the 36km-square Orrvik Project was acquired by Ragnar in October 2023, taking the company’s total lithium landholding in Sweden to 168km-square.

Ragnar Metals is an ASX-listed company focused primarily on its portfolio of assets prospective for nickel, copper, and gold across Sweden.
