WIN Metals (ASX:WIN) CEO Steve Norregaard says the Radio Gold Project in Western Australia has achieved “outstanding first results” in the company’s maiden drilling campaign that validate the project’s potential.
With drilling still ongoing and nearing completion, WIN has returned initial results from the Repeater and Portal prospects.
Intercepts from Repeater include 1m @ 33.95 grams per tonne gold from 27m; 1m @ 30.65g/t gold from 51m; 2m @ 13.95g/t gold from 26m; 7m @ 2.94g/t gold from 38m; and 1m @ 17.55g/t gold from 36m.
“Hitting ounce dirt (33.95g/t) at Repeater demonstrates the high grade nature of the mineralised system with 14g/t gold at depth on our very first pass reinforces that this system has scale and continuity beyond just the historical Radio mine,” Norregaard says.
“Repeater is shaping up as a genuine extension of the high-grade Radio deposit — with both open pit and underground potential already evident.”
The Portal prospect returned 4m @ 2.33g/t gold from 20m and 1m @ 5.85g/t gold from 13m.
Results from grade control drilling at Radio South and extensional drilling at Radio, Repeater, and Radio South is yet to return.
“With infrastructure in place and Repeater only a hundred metres to the north of Radio we’re only scratching the surface of what the extent of mineralisation could be… but what we do know is its high grade,” the CEO adds.
