Questcorp Mining (CSE:QQQ) is continuing rock chip and soil sampling activities, ahead of an upcoming drilling program, at the La Union Gold-Silver Project in Sonora, Mexico.
Samples dispatched for laboratory analysis are expected within the coming weeks following site visits by drilling contractors.
A bulldozer has also begun road maintenance in preparation for drilling.
CEO Saf Dhillon says management continues to be “impressed” with the work and progress to date.
“The Riverside technical team continues to de-risk the upcoming 1,500m, mid-August maiden drill program through detailed surface mapping and sampling,” Dhillon says.
“The discovery of multiple stacked thrust faults in the main mineralised area has significantly enhanced the potential of the project.”
Questcorp notes that mapping has also identified previously unmapped intrusive bodies within the project, which may act as additional sources of mineralised fluids and subsequently additional potential manto-type mineralisation.
As reported, Questcrop has an option to wholly own La Union from Riverside Resources (TSX-V:RRI). The company will pay C$100,000 ($111,137), issue shares equal to 19.9% of Questcorp, as well as incur C$5.5 million in expenditure.
The La Union Project is a carbonate-replacement-deposit covering 25km2.
Questcorp Mining is a Canadian mineral explorer focused on acquiring and discovering mineral properties on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
