Questcorp Mining (CSE:QQQ) is continuing surface geochemistry and mapping to strengthen the targeting pipeline within its La Union Gold-Silver Project in Sonora, Mexico.
The Canadian junior explorer is focusing on delineating the transition zones from covered to exposed mineralisation, as well as establishing structural controls that may influence ore continuity at depth.
This news comes after a drone magnetic survey was recently flown over the property to provide structural context, follow-up potential intrusive feeders, and provide information about potential faults beneath the pediments and postmineral young cover units.
Questcorp’s surface exploration program is being carried out in preparation for an upcoming drilling program at La Union. As Mining.com.au reported, the company plans to conduct a 1,500m drilling program in mid to late Q3 2025.
CEO Saf Dhillon says the company is pleased with the progress made as it completes preliminary exploration steps in finalising drill targets.
“The decades of in-country exploration experience that John-Mark and his Riverside team diligently bring to focus at the La Union Project is very evident as they continue to further derisk the upcoming 1,500m drill program,” Dhillon says.
In early May 2025, Questcorp entered into a definitive option agreement with Riverside Resources (TSX-V:RRI) to acquire the La Union Project. Questcorp will pay C$100,000 ($112,496), issue shares equal to 19.9%, as well as incur C$5.5 million in expenditure.
The La Union Project is a carbonate replacement deposit asset hosted by Neoproterozoic sedimentary rocks overlying crystalline Paleoproterozoic rocks of the Caborca terrane.
Riverside Resources, the operator of La Union, is currently lining up various geophysical contractors to immediately conduct orientation surveys and follow-up detailed surveys to confirm and enhance drill targets.
Questcorp Mining is focused on acquiring and exploring mineral properties in North America, with the aim of locating and developing economic precious and base metal properties.
