QMines (ASX:QML) has identified a structural corridor linking three deposits at its Mt Chalmers Copper-Gold Project in Queensland.
Desktop interpretation work has defined a north-northeast striking mineralised corridor connecting the Woods Shaft, Mt Chalmers, and Botos deposits across approximately 4km of largely undrilled strike.
QMines says the corridor between existing deposits remains largely untested, presenting significant exploration and growth opportunities.
Woods Shaft sits at the southern end of the interpreted corridor and provides the first priority drill test of the broader exploration model.
The deposit has delivered ‘high-grade’ intercepts, including 37m @ 3.14 grams per tonne gold and 0.82% copper from 4m, with a higher grade zone of 4m @ 7.38g/t gold and 1.77% copper.
All 11 of QMines’ 2022 reverse circulation (RC) holes at Woods Shaft ended in mineralisation, indicating the system remains open along strike and at depth. Modern drilling has not tested the deposit below 95m depth.
“The interpretation supports a broader corridor scale exploration model where Woods Shaft, Mt Chalmers, and Botos are interpreted as separate mineralised centres within a single arc normal transfer fault corridor,” Executive Chairman Andrew Sparke says.
QMines is finalising an RC and diamond drilling program to test Woods Shaft and the broader structural corridor.
The company holds a 9.6-million-tonne ore reserve at Mt Chalmers, grading 0.65% copper, 0.48g/t gold, 0.27% zinc, and 5.20g/t silver, with combined mineral resource estimates across Mt Chalmers, Develin Creek, Woods Shaft, and Mt Mackenzie totalling 19.4 million tonnes.
QMines notes that the structural framework is conceptual and that insufficient exploration has been completed to estimate an interpreted mineral resource, adding that it remains uncertain whether further exploration will result in mineral resource estimation.
