QMines completes Mount Mackenzie drilling program

QMines (ASX:QML) has completed final assays from its 73-hole drilling program at the Mount Mackenzie Gold and Silver Project.

The program covered 9,798m across five target areas at the project, which is located near Rockhampton in Central Queensland.

Results from the program confirm North Knoll as the principal gold position drilled to date, with mineralisation defined over approximately 350m of strike and remaining open at depth.

QMines reports that the highest individual gold assay returned from the program is the Vein 355 intercept of 16m @ 19.35 grams per tonne gold from 8m, including 1m @ 108g/t gold from 11m.

Deeper diamond drilling at North Knoll West confirms mineralisation continues below the shallow reverse circulation drill envelope, with ‘significant’ intercepts including:

  • 24m @ 1.19g/t gold and 13.3g/t silver from 71m, including 2m @ 2.61g/t gold and 33.4g/t silver from 78m, with a peak assay of 3.46g/t gold
  • 7m @ 1.89g/t gold and 34.6g/t silver from 55m, including 4m @ 3.08g/t gold and 56.2g/t silver from 55m
  • 12m @ 1.35g/t gold and 8.4g/t silver from 121m
  • 13m @ 0.68g/t gold and 2.3g/t silver from 140m

Meanwhile, drilling at the Southern Extension continues to demonstrate structurally controlled mineralisation between North Knoll and Vein 355.

Key intercepts include 9m @ 1.17g/t gold and 14.1g/t silver from 130m, including 2m @ 2.34g/t gold and 36.2g/t silver from 135m; and 6m @ 1.85g/t gold from 10m, including 2m @ 3.88g/t gold from 13m.

Exploration Manager Tom Bartschi says the completion of the program provides a “substantial” drilling, assay, and logging dataset for Mount Mackenzie.

“These holes provide additional evidence that mineralisation extends to depth, with observed grade, width, and continuity supporting the current geological interpretation of the system,” Bartschi says.

QMines says it has also completed a program-wide geological, geochemical, and statistical review, which will provide a technical basis for a mineral resource estimate (MRE) currently underway.

The company is also planning deeper diamond drilling at North Knoll West to test deeper copper-gold potential.

Oriented diamond drilling is likewise planned at Vein 355 to define structural geometry controlling the higher grade shoot and test potential down-dip extensions.

Additionally, final planning for a large drilling campaign at the Woods Shaft deposit at the Mt Chalmers Project is underway and expected to be announced shortly.

QMines is a copper and gold developer focused on its 100%-owned Mt Chalmers and Develin Creek projects in Queensland.

The company will be attending the Noosa Mining Conference, held on 22–24 July 2026, at Peppers Noosa Resort in Queensland.

Mining.com.au is an official media partner of this year’s conference and will be at the event.
