Q2 Metals (TSX-V:QTWO) has received results from the winter portion of its 2026 drilling program, which demonstrates the ‘robust’ mineralisation at the Cisco Lithium Project in Canada.
A total of 10,515m of drilling across 19 holes was completed during the winter campaign, with results reported representing 5,909m of drilling. Results on the remaining nine holes will be released once received.
Some of the latest results include 264.6m @ 1.84% lithium oxide (Li2O) and 152.9m @ 1.59% Li2O; 202.7m @ 1.58% Li2O and 96.8m @ 1.64% Li2O; and 78.7m @ 1.25% Li2O and 107.8m @ 1.74% Li2O.
Vice President of Exploration Neil McCallum says the aim of the winter drilling program was infill drilling, and the company had a few surprises of unexpected mineralisation as it attempted to define the boundaries.
“The results from our ongoing drill programs continue to enhance our understanding of the Cisco deposit and support the advancement of the 20 April 2026 inferred resource estimate,” McCallum says.
“A key focus of our 2026 summer drill program is the conversion of inferred resources to the indicated category, while also pursuing opportunities to expand the resource base and unlock additional value across the project.”
Summer exploration plans
As previously reported, Q2 Metals is preparing to begin its summer exploration program at Cisco in mid-June.
The program, which represents the largest to date at Cisco, will comprise up to 20,000m of infill and exploratory drilling across four diamond core drill rigs. Two additional rigs will be mobilised mid-summer to enhance and accelerate the work program.
Further, Q2 Metals has engaged BBA to be the lead consultant for a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) on Cisco.
The PEA will establish the first economic benchmark for the project by evaluating the existing resource within a preliminary mine plan and processing flowsheet. It will also incorporate metallurgy test work and infrastructure studies that have been conducted to date.
Cisco remains open along strike, with several additional high-priority targets in the immediate area.
The project has a current inferred resource of 270 million tonnes @ 1.36% Li2O and an additional underground-constrained resource of 24 million tonnes @ 1.35% Li2O.
Q2 Metals is a Canadian mineral explorer focused on its Cisco Lithium Project located in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec, Canada.
