Purepoint Uranium (TSX-V:PTU) has reported continuous radioactivity averaging 11,730 counts per second (cps) from its latest drilling at the Nova Discovery on the Dorado Project in the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Hole NV26-11 intersected 5.6m between 337.9m and 343.5m downhole, with peak readings reaching 53,300cps from a strongly hematite-altered granitic gneiss and pelitic gneiss contact.
The radiometric response aligns with ‘high-grade’ uranium mineralisation previously intersected at Nova. Drilling returned assays up to 8.1% uranium oxide over 0.4m within 1.62% uranium oxide over 2.1m. Laboratory assays for the latest hole remain pending.
CEO Chris Frostad says the hole supports the geological model for the target.
“The continuity of the radioactive interval and the strength of the downhole probe response reinforce our understanding of the mineralised system and help guide our exploration priorities when drilling resumes in two weeks,” Frostad says.
The first phase tested both the Q23 and Nova target areas across four holes. NV26-11 represents the broadest continuous radioactive interval encountered during the program.
Purepoint operates the Dorado Project under a 50/50 joint venture with IsoEnergy (TSX:ISO).
Uranium mineralisation at Nova has been identified along a structural corridor extending approximately 1km. The corridor is associated with intense alteration and graphitic basement rocks.
The company has scheduled a mid-program break to integrate results with the broader geological dataset before determining next drilling priorities. Drilling is expected to resume in two weeks.
