Pure Resources (ASX:PR1) reports it has uncovered a ‘significant’ 1.8km geochemical anomaly following an auger drilling campaign at its Yundamindra Nickel-Cobalt Project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields.
The results, generated via 1,171 auger holes, indicate that the anomaly extends over a north-south trend and has returned grades up to 2,650ppm Ni.
Drilling has also delivered peak, shallow nickel grades up to 1.38% Ni, with multiple other holes returning grades greater than 1% Ni, as well as additional discrete nickel anomalies within the broader geochemical haloes.
These results validate that the the potential for near surface nickel mineralisation exists within the tenement, with further testing focusing on defining potential lateritic and sulphide hosted nickel-cobalt mineralisation.
Speaking on the results, Pure Resources Executive Chairman, Patrick Glovac said: “The team at Pure could not be happier with multiple drill hits returning results greater than 1% nickel, especially on the company’s maiden drill program. The Yundamindra project continues to return promising nickel results that warrant further exploration which is prospective for Kambalda style nickel.

These shallow ‘high-grade’ results, along with recent rock chip results, from Yundamindra validate the potential for a near surface nickel mineralisation.
The company will continue to undertake exploration on the Yundamindra project for nickel with the focus on becoming a battery metals company.”
Pure Resources also notes that recent drilling was conducted to test for nickel anomalism following a successful reconnaissance sampling program on outcropping ultramafic rocks, which returned grades up to 0.35% Ni, as announced by the company earlier this month.
Pure Resources is a Western Australian-based, ASX-listed Cu, Au and Ni explorer focused on exploring for future-facing commodities. The company’s Yundamindra project is located within the Murrin and Linden domains, in the Kurnalpi Terrane of WA’s Eastern Goldfields region and comprises two tenements, which cover a total combined area of about 90km-square.
Both tenements are prospective for Kambalda style nickel and orogenic gold mineralisation and share the same rock types as its neighbouring Eucalyptus Bore Ni-Co Project, which boasts an ore reserve of 32.3Mt at 0.91% Ni and 0.06% Co.
With the auger drilling campaign now complete, Pure Resources announces that follow up auger drill results are expected to be returned imminently, with hopes of aiding in developing the project further and generate additional targets for a planned aggressive drilling campaign.
